1992–2002 Mazda RX-7 Suspension & Handling FAQ's

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What coilover rates work for a dual‑purpose FD?

Balanced street/track setups often land near 8–10 kg/mm front and 6–8 kg/mm rear with digressive damping. Add front camber (‑2.0°+) for 200‑TW tires.

Do sway bars reduce understeer without ruining ride?

Moderate bars control roll; avoid overly stiff fronts that induce push. Fine‑tune with alignment and rebound settings for bumpy roads.

Any FD‑specific chassis notes?

Refresh bushings, ball joints, and align for toe stability—aged components amplify bump‑steer and tramlining. Corner‑balance after major changes.
