JDC Titanium Plastic Rivet Replacement Hardware

The JDC titanium plastic rivet replacement hardware is the perfect solution for anyone that's tired of breaking those cheap plastic clips every time you have to take them out!

Note: Installation of both the stainless steel rivnut and rubber well nut may require drilling the hole a little bigger to get the proper clearance.

M5 sizes can be found here

Stainless Steel Rivet Nut vs Rubber Well Nut

  • Stainless Steel Rivet Nuts are better for metal parts, such as fenders.
  • Rubber Well Nuts work better in softer pieces, such as carbon fiber, FRP, polyurethane, and plastic.

How do they work?

  • Each plastic rivet is replaced with a stainless steel rivet nut or rubber well nut that adds threads to the hole for your bolt. Once you have the rivet nut installed (rivnut tool sold separately), you can simply screw the titanium bolt and washer in place. It's that simple! This kit can be used anywhere where a plastic rivet was once used. We have multiple bolt lengths and washer sizes to work on any application!
What size will I need?
  • Most common plastic rivets will use an M6 size hole with a 17mm long bolt, but it will vary depending on the application. That's why we offer the following sizes for you to choose from:

Each piece is sold individually and comes with:

  • (1) Bolt of your choice
  • (1) Washer of your choice
  • (1) Stainless Steel Rivnut or Rubber Well nut

M6 Metal Rivnuts require a 3/8" hole for installation. You will need a rivnut tool to fasten these in place. You can order an inexpensive tool here, or order a bigger one online to make the job easier.

M6 Rubber Well Nuts require a 1/2" hole for installation. No tool is needed to fasten these in place. The rubber will squeeze out as you tighten the bolt to make it secure in its location.

How Do I Keep My Titanium Products Looking Brand New?

Installing: Wear gloves when installing titanium parts to prevent oils from your hands causing a "faded" look. After installation, clean the part before applying heat to avoid baking oils onto the surface.

Cleaning: Use our JDC Titanium Cleaner, designed to safely clean titanium without damaging the finish. Alternatively, clean with soapy water, a microfiber towel, or Windex, rubbing alcohol, or Clorox wipes.

Avoid: Harsh chemicals like water spot remover, engine degreaser, brake cleaner, metal polish, or acidic cleaners—they can damage the oxidized layer and remove the color.

Tip: Always clean when parts are cool to avoid water spots or tarnished finishes.
