To install this kit, you’ll need to slightly enlarge the existing holes in the metal frame to add rivnuts so you can create threads where they’re missing. Don’t worry, though—you won’t have to drill into the fragile plastic tabs on the headlights or front bumper support. We went with clip-on nuts for those spots because it’s a much better option than drilling out the tabs for rubber well nuts. This way, you get a solid, secure fit without risking damage to those delicate areas.

A rivnut tool will be required to properly fasten the rivnuts to your frame. If you don't have a rivnut tool, you can order an inexpensive tool here, or find one at your local auto parts store.
