JDC Titanium Anodizing Services

With over seven years of learning and anodizing titanium products, we've perfected our methods and now offer anodizing services for products we don't make or sell ourselves. If you are looking for a company to outsource your coloring or polishing to, we're a great choice! Our colors are guaranteed to be the most vibrant and consistent on the market! We offer multiple types of coloring including our propreitary cold anodizing method, which gives vibrant, consistant, and long lasting colors. Our anodized coating will not fade in direct sunlight and is as strong as the surface of the metal itself! Read more below about our available services and different teqhniques.

Services Offered

  • Polishing: We offer standard polishing with a polishing wheel, or laser polishing on flat surfaces.
  • Brushing: We offer brusing services to leave a smooth brushed surface to allow deeper penetration for anodizing.
  • Anodizing: We offer multiple types of anodizing including Torch Burning, Electric Anodizing, Entropic Anodizing, and Sponge Anodizing.

Electric Anodizing

Electric anodizing, sometimes called electrochemical anodizing, is a process in which titanium parts are submerged in an electrolytic solution and an electric current is applied. This process forms a uniform, durable oxide layer on the surface of the titanium, resulting in a wide range of vivid colors. Electric anodizing provides a more consistent finish than torch burning and offers excellent corrosion resistance, while allowing colors to come out a consistent and repeatable vibrant color.

    Electric Anodized Color Options

  • Burnt: The most common titanium finish- Mixture of Blue, Purple, gold/bronze, and bare.
  • Rainbow: Mixture of light Blue, Gold, and Pink with a hint of deep Purple and sometimes Dark Blue.
  • Solid Colors: Purple, Blue, Bronze, Gold, Green, Pink.
  • Custom Colors & Patterns: Colors shown on the color scale are possible. If the color you need is not on the scale (like black, red, or orange) it would not be possible to achieve by natural anodizing. Please email us for options and ideas.

Torch Anodizing

Torch burning anodizing, also known as flame anodizing, is a technique that utilizes a high-temperature torch to heat the surface of a titanium part. This process forms a thin oxide layer on the titanium, which displays a variety of vibrant colors depending on the temperature achieved. Torch burning anodizing is favored for its striking appearance and the ability to generate unique, bespoke patterns. However, torch anodizing is more challenging to control than electric anodizing, resulting in colors that may exhibit subtle variations. At JDC Titanium, we employ electric anodizing for our hardware and products, ensuring greater control over color consistency and a thicker, longer-lasting oxide layer.

Entropic Anodizing

Entropic anodizing is a technique that utilizes a combination of torch burning and Ferric chloride acid to create a unique, multi-colored effect on titanium parts. By carefully controlling the temperature during torch burning and applying Ferric chloride acid, stunning and distinctive entropy-inspired patterns emerge on the titanium surface. These intricate lightning patterns, resembling natural electrical discharges, make entropic anodizing an ideal choice for those seeking a truly distinctive and artistic finish for their titanium components.

Sponge Anodizing

Sponge anodizing is a creative method that utilizes a sponge soaked in an electrolytic solution to apply electric current to specific areas of a titanium part. This selective anodizing technique allows for the creation of intricate designs and patterns on the titanium surface, providing a high level of customization to meet individual preferences.
